About Us
The formation of DesignSPEC by it’s founder Clifford Wright was due to the lack of independent Consultants in our region. With most designs being carried out by Catering equipment contractors the client was never getting a truly balanced & independent proposal.
Clifford was one of these contractors for over 25 years, completing designs & Projects throughout the continent of Africa & Islands. From 5 star Hotels – Mining Camps- Retail industry – Corporate Offices and Hospitals.
DesignSPEC has become an integral part of any facility design team & will liaise with Architects, M&E Consultants, Engineers and Project Managers to ensure that all key requirements of the project are delivered including critical timelines and budgets are met..

Scope of Work
Pre Tender
- Clients Brief on operating requirements.
- Budget proposal.
- Concept Layouts for the clients comments.
- Issue working layouts & detailed specifications for approval.
- Issue tender Documents.
Post Tender
- Tender review & issue recommendations to client.
- Issue services DWGS to various consultants.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager Issue supplier with a detailed Manufacture / Delivery& installation Program.
- Monitor suppliers manufacture Progress & quality inspections· On site Management overseeing supplier’s installation.
- Site coordination between the various trades & PM.
- Supervise commissioning of equipment.
- Issue Hand over documents.
- Issue training Program.
Post Hand Over (Optional)
- Issue equipment supplier an after sales service Program.
- Issue supplier an on-site spares list.
- Monitor equipment breakdown sand liaise with supplier on solutions.
- Review suppliers after sales commitment and report to Client.

Design
DesignSPEC makes use of the latest Design software to prepare detailed layouts of your facility, incorporating the latest technology.
This ensures you of optimum use of the space provided, and correct planning of work flows resulting in the most practical and safe working environment.
3D Rendered Layouts
The design software we use gives us the option to offer a life like 3d rendered presentation.
Equipment Services
Once all the design requirements are met and you are completely satisfied with the layout, we will issue a detailed M.E.P service drawing This will ensure the correct services are installed by the various contractors, which will allow for a speedy and trouble-free installation.
Budgets
At this stage Budgets are discussed with the Professional teams & client. Designs & specifications changes are done to suite the budget taking into mind the operational requirements
Detailed Specifications & Tender Documents
From the completed design detailed specification will be issued to the owner/operator for approval and comments .This will form the basis of the tender documents.
Project Management
One of our services being Project Management we can be the coordinating link between the Clients Professional team and the F&B Equipment Suppliers /Builders etc.
